SUSTAINABILITY
AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURING.
Our garments are all made in Australia, and it will always be that way. This also includes cutting, pattern making and grading. Local manufacturing fosters a healthy local economy, bolsters employment, creates a smaller carbon footprint, contributes less to pollution and ensures that employees are treated fairly under our local laws. All labels, swing tags, boxes, postcards and other promotion materials are also manufactured within Australia. We believe in the power of community and are proud to directly support the livelihood of Australian families by prioritising sourcing from local businesses, where possible.
MADE TO LAST.
We want you to enjoy wearing your Gyre garment for as long as possible, and pay great attention to each and every step of the manufacturing process to ensure it’s longevity. However, if a 'Gyre' piece developed some unexpected wear or tear, we will be happy to offer repair, where possible.
CIRCULAR FABRICS.
We choose only circular fabrics for our garments and ensure a fully transparent supply chain of materials and processing. Natural, recycled and organic fabrics are utilised meaning they can be further recycled and re-used, or that can become earth again.
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING.
Here at Gyre we care about decreasing environmental impact of our business every step of the way, and the packaging is no different.
To post out an order, we use 'comPOST Packs', home compostable satchels, which are made from 100% biodegradable materials (starches such as corn husks, rice straw and wheat straw). Once received, just put it in with your food scraps and garden waste. It will break down within 90 days in compost, a non-toxic process. Some bigger garments we pack into the boxes made from recycled paper also, and we are always looking for more sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
